About Lex
I am a bundle of contradictions and a science fiction author, driven by the intricate dance between technology, humanity, and the vast unknowns of our universe. My writing explores the questions that lie at the intersection of scientific advancement and human experience.
My Journey
My life got shaped by a lifelong fascination with science fiction – a genre that first captured my imagination during childhood and ultimately influenced my professional path. From engineering to humanitarian work, I’ve always maintained a core commitment to understanding and improving the human condition.
The Writing Adventure
Ironically, despite being very proficient with technology, I’m a bit of a klutz when it comes to social media. I often don’t know what to say or am tripping over algorithms, fumbling with hashtags, and generally feeling like I’m ten steps behind. I know – not ideal for a debut writer! hahaha
Despite this, I’m embracing the indie-publishing world as one grand experiment. I see it as an opportunity to expand my horizons and apply everything I’ve learned throughout my life.
The response to my first book, The Birth of Cogenant, has been nothing short of magical. I never could have imagined such a warm reception. There’s an indescribable joy in knowing that the words on a page connect me with so many like-minded people around the globe. It’s so thrilling to share stories that resonate with beautiful minds.
A Bundle of Contradictions
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me in delightful extremes – either curled up with a good book, marvelling in the world of science, obsessing with global politics or going absolutely nuts on a dance floor! Throughout my life, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by truly inspiring and loving people. I cherish travelling with friends and building new connections around the world.
My Literary World
My debut novel, The Birth of Cogenant, reflects my deep interest in exploring consciousness, artificial intelligence, and the complex moral landscapes of technological evolution. I’m currently immersed in the Cogenant series, with the second book, The Penance of Cogenant, taking shape.
My writing draws inspiration from masterful sci-fi authors like Frank Herbert, Neal Shusterman, Isaac Asimov, and Adrian Tchaikovsky – creators who have similarly used speculative fiction to probe deep philosophical and technological questions.
My stories aim to be more than mere narratives – they are explorations of human potential, technological consequence, and the intricate relationships between society, consciousness, sustainability and progress.
My Belief in Stories
Perhaps because of the great impact books have had on me – and continue to have – I’m a firm believer that good stories can change the world for the better. I’m profoundly grateful for all the storytellers before me. They have made me a better person. My love goes out to all the readers and, most importantly, to all writers of today who change the world and minds through their imagination and a pen.
